EZ Rocking Ranch is your source for locally raised grass fed beef, pastured chickens and eggs, free range turkeys and pastured pork.
All Natural - we do not use antibiotics, hormone inplants or other drugs in our meat animals.
We believe in locally raised foods, we deliver to surrounding area, Gillette, Sheridan, Buffalo Wyoming, Broadus, Ashland, Billings Montana, etc. on a regular basis.
More Nutritious. A major benefit of raising animals on pasture is that their products are healthier for you. For example, compared with feedlot meat, meat from grass-fed beef, bison, lamb, chickens, pigs, turkeys and goats has less total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, and calories. It also has more vitamin E, beta-carotene, vitamin C, and a number of health-promoting fats, including omega-3 fatty acids and “conjugated linoleic acid,”
Factory Farming. Raising animals on pasture is totally different from the the typical grocery store "food". Virtually all the meat, eggs, and dairy products that you find in the supermarket come from animals raised in confinement in large facilities called CAFOs or “Confined Animal Feeding Operations.” These highly mechanized operations provide a year-round supply of food at a reasonable price. Although the food is cheap and convenient, there is growing recognition that factory farming creates a host of problems, including:
• Animal stress and abuse
• Air, land, and water pollution
• The unnecessary use of hormones, antibiotics, and other drugs
• Low-paid, stressful farm work
• The loss of small family farms
• Food with less nutritional value.
The Ranch produces high quality grassfed beef, chickens, eggs, turkeys, milk cows and pork that provides a healthy and delicious alternative to the factory farm meats in most supermarkets today.
EZ Rocking Ranch raises meat and poultry the old-fashioned way, when people cared where their meat came from, how it was raised and how it was processed. Since we raise all of our animals here in Wyoming, you don't have to worry about animal byproducts or antibiotics in the animal's feed. Nor do you need to be concerned about carbon monoxide in the packaging, a deceptive technique that keeps meat red and fresh-looking even when it's weeks old. We offer organically raised meats, treated humanely and processed with compassion,
Our grass fed beef has a unique, genuine flavor based on a longer, naturally tuned growing cycle. We bring quality beef straight from the ranch to you.
Happy chickens get plenty of green forage and are truly free range during daytime. This produces flavorful chicken that you just can't get from the grocery stores.
Happy hens lay good eggs. Fresh from the ranch, not weeks old from the egg factory a thousand miles away. Fresh eggs laid by free range hens have a bright orange yolk, a firm white, these eggs really stand up when you crack them into your frying pan.
Pasture raised pork. A few pigs are available each year, raised in large lots where they root, forage, and wallow as nature intended. They are fed a mixed natural diet including home grown corn.
When you choose to eat meat, eggs, and dairy products from animals raised on pasture, you are improving the welfare of the animals, helping to put an end to environmental degradation, helping small-scale ranchers and farmers make a living from the land, helping to sustain rural communities, and giving your family the healthiest possible food. It’s a win-win-win-win situation.
Please contact us anytime! We look forward to hearing from you. Visitors always welcome at the ranch.
Sometimes the best route is "back to the future."
Modern Agriculture fell prey to the ideas of industrialization following World War II. The discovery that petroleum based fertilizers would stimulate plant growth and the mechanization of labors that were previously all done by a local work force allowed consumers to enjoy a boom in fruits and vegetables.
The raising of meats and poultry on a mass scale kept prices lower than they would have been in the regular inflation cycles. However, these perceived benefits carried several hidden costs.
The food produced had far less nutrients. The taste was bland. The pollution costs to the water table and surrounding community health were ignored.
The processing done by major food corporations turned regular food into "Franken-food" that did not resemble its previous state and turned on consumers with a vengeance.
Researchers are only now discovering that the epidemics of heart disease and obesity are rooted in the low quality foods available in most mass food outlets.
We believe that a return to sustainable agriculture from local farmers passionate about their food and their farms can help to restore the health our ancestors enjoyed.
