On this page I have answered some of the questions we are frequently asked.
Please feel free to contact us if you need more information or if you would like to place an order
A - Most are raised from birth on our family ranch located in Northeast Wyoming. We occaisionally have cattle purchased from outside sources, these are mainly replacement mother cows or bulls.
A. Yes…Humane, compassionate, gentle handling of livestock in an good environment is very important to us. We want each cow/chicken/turkey/pig and their offspring to have lots of space and natural forages.
Cattle - Texas Longhorns, Brangus, Wagyu crosses. Our locations requires moderate sized, athletic range cows that thrive in large rangeland pastures with sometimes difficult terrain.
Chickens - Rhode Island Reds, New Hampshire Reds, Americanas, mixed crosses including Barred Rocks and other brown egg layers.
Turkeys - Various heritage breeds including Bourbon Red, Rio Grande, New Jersey Buff, Royal Palm.
Pigs - Mule Foot and other breeds.
Milk Cows - Brown Swiss, Jersey, Guernsey.
Beeves are grassfed, we do not finish on grain. Hay and compressed alfalfa is fed in wintertime. Salt is provided.
Chickens, Turkeys, Pork all have free access to unlimited grasses and range plants. These animals also receive natural grain,(No Soy)
Milk Cows are primarily grass fed, they do receive a small amount of grains at milking time. We do not feed soy,
A - We have owned and cared for most of these animals from putting the male and female together until this point…about 3 years for our cattle. Respect for all the plants and animals that make up our ranch is a core value. It is critical that the slaughtering process be done with that same respect.
Our preferred process is to have beef and other meat animals harvested at the ranch. Then the beef carcass would be taken to a custom meat processor, in the case of beef, to be aged, cut and packaged. This is the least stressful method.
Due to state and national regulations, we do have to have some of our meat processed in USDA plant, in which case we haul to the processing plant. They are penned overnight with water and the same mates they were with on the ranch.
Organic certification is not really meaningful in the whole picture. Organic beef can still be inhumanely treated and live in manure up to their knees in a feedlot. Organic chickens can still be raised in cages or given the space equivalent to a sheet of typing paper, never see the sun or a bit of green grass in their lives.
We raise animals in wide open spaces, they get free choice on natural forage, plentiful clean water, salt. Our poultry and pigs do receive some additional natural foods, i.e. grains and vegatable/garden trimmings.
We invite you to come tour the ranch and decide for yourself if your meat is being raised humanly, organically and in a clean natural environment.
Our is food grown without pesticides, artificial fertilizers, added hormones, steroids, antibiotics or preservatives.
We offer safe, healthy, natural and nutritious grass-fed beef, chickens, eggs, pork, milk cows and turkeys, plus seasonal fruits and vegetables.
A - We do not ship food. We should all seek food closer to home, in our own foodshed, our own bioregion. This means enjoying the seasonal harvests and reacquainting ourselves with our home kitchens. I do offer delivery to surrounding towns and communities. In Wyoming, to Gillette, Recluse, Sheridan, Buffalo. In Montana, my family makes regular trips to Billings, so with advance scheduling I can deliver to Broadus, Moorehead, Ashland, Wyola, Hardin etc.
